Russia - Ex-employee of Rostekhnadzor accused of abuse of power in Kuzbass

Russia (bbabo.net), - A criminal case has been initiated against the former head of the Belovsky department of Rostekhnadzor in the Kemerovo region. He is accused of abuse of power. According to the materials of the case, the official received a car from the coal miners for personal use.

This was announced during a working trip to the Altai Territory by Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Dmitry Demeshin. According to him, cited by TASS, a series of layoffs in the leadership of the Siberian Department of Rostekhnadzor is associated with identified violations in the work of the department. These violations led to criminal cases.

In early February, the head of the Siberian Department of Rostekhnadzor, Alexander Mironenko, wrote a letter of resignation of his own free will, and at the end of 2021, his deputy Mikhail Serbinovich, who was in charge of mining supervision, resigned. According to Demeshin, the case against the former head of the Belovsky department of Rostekhnadzor was initiated under article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of power). He used for personal and official needs a car that was purchased for him by the owners of a coal mining enterprise.

As the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation specified, other employees of Rostekhnadzor in Kuzbass became defendants in criminal cases. The inspectors of this and other bodies of control and supervision, Demeshin said, after the tragedy at the Listvyazhnaya mine performed their function nominally, they checked the mines not in reality, but only on paper.

At the end of last year, the Prosecutor General's Office submitted a presentation to the head of the Siberian Department of Rostekhnadzor based on the results of inspections carried out after the tragedy at Listvyazhnaya. At the same time, systemic violations were revealed in the work of the supervisory authority. Two employees of the Siberian Department of Rostekhnadzor were taken into custody shortly after the accident, which claimed 51 lives. They were charged with negligence during inspections at the mine.
