Volunteers of the “We are together” corps continue to meet residents evacuated from the LPR and DPR

Volunteers of the youth corps "We are together", consisting of the teams "MolodezhkaONF", MGER and a volunteer company, continue to meet residents evacuated from the LPR and DPR at the Uspenka checkpoint. Volunteers meet people and provide first consulting and psychological assistance. Igor Kastyukevich, State Duma deputy, first deputy chairman of the youth policy committee, coordinator of youth policy in the United Russia party, also spent the night watch with volunteers.

“It's cold at night. I would like to say that the borders are calm, but this is not so. People go day and night. Children, old people, women. You cheer, they seem to smile, but what kind of smiles are there when you have to drop everything and leave. One girl, three years old, took my hand and holds me, and everything inside me turns over. Other mother and daughter came at 4 in the morning, we gave them tea to drink, they warmed up. There was a man, a widower, who brought his daughter, handed it over and went back. He says that duty does not allow him to do otherwise,” said Kastyukevich.

The day before, Andrey Gimbatov, State Duma deputy from the Volgograd region, also came to the volunteer center. With the assistance of the fund of social projects "Heritage" - "We do not abandon our own", he brought a truck with 5 tons of humanitarian cargo to the Rostov region.

“We collected help together with the Heritage Foundation. Inspected heating points. Here, volunteers help residents, mainly women and children, by warming them up and providing psychological assistance. It is very important. People are confused, they go out and do not know where to go, they do not understand what documents to draw up. Volunteers explain everything to them, around the clock. They are great fellows! They work informally, with full dedication, it can be seen. I got indescribable emotions from what I saw - it's very scary when people are forced to break out of their homes and go nowhere, with a small set of things. And today they need our help. Therefore we are here. They need not even financial, but more moral support, so that people understand that we need them and they are not abandoned,” Gimbatov said.

Now another car with humanitarian aid is being prepared in Volgograd, which will soon go to the Rostov region.

At the Uspenka checkpoint, volunteers meet residents right at the crossing. Children are given chocolates, adults are given the necessary questionnaires to fill out. There are many residents who bring their children and grandchildren to the border, and then return back themselves.

The plans for the day include the organization of a similar volunteer corps at the checkpoint by the LPR. Already in the evening, volunteers from the “We are together” corps, led by Igor Kastyukevich, are equipping another point of assistance to the refugees.
