On the eve of the weekend, on February 26 and 27, the regional departments of the State traffic inspectorate spoke about the upcoming raids and mass checks of drivers. Traffic police will pay special attention to the problem of drunk driving.

Preventive measures and continuous checks were promised to drivers in the Ivanovo region, Samara region, Kursk region, Lipetsk region, Tver region, Omsk region, Penza region, in the Oktyabrsky and Leninsky districts of Kirov and in Smolensk.

In Krasnoyarsk on Friday evening, as part of a raid, 20 additional traffic police patrol cars will take to the streets. In total, more than 40 traffic police crews will work on the roads of Krasnoyarsk and Divnogorsk that day.

Also, mass checks are scheduled for February 25, March 4 and 11 on the Tyumen-Tobolsk-Khanty-Mansiysk highway, the traffic police of Khanty-Mansiysk announced.

The Moscow traffic police said that since the beginning of the year, traffic police have detained 3,907 drivers with signs of intoxication. According to the statistics of the metropolitan traffic police, most often such violations are committed by drivers aged 20 to 40 years.
