According to him, if a person was vaccinated with Sputnik V, then protection against hospitalization and severe cases is about 89 percent, and if he is probation, then about 93-94 percent, RIA Novosti reports.

The scientist noted that protection against infection is about 56 percent. The nasal form of the vaccine will help increase this figure, Gunzburg emphasized.

Earlier, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko said that two strains of coronavirus are currently circulating in Russia - "omicron" and "delta" in a ratio of 1 to 2. At the same time, it cannot be said that "omicron" is easy for everyone. Moreover, a number of drugs against "omicron" were not so effective. According to the minister, due to the peculiarities of the "omicron" strain, it was necessary to change the treatment protocol for infection with this variant.
