Russia has decided to restrict flights for Romanian airlines to the country. RIA Novosti writes about this with reference to the Federal Air Transport Agency.
As reported, the Russian side took such a measure in the light of unfriendly decisions of the Romanian aviation authorities.
"A decision has been made to introduce restrictions for air carriers of the Republic of Romania and / or registered in it to perform regular flights to points on the territory of the Russian Federation, including transit flights through the airspace of the Russian Federation," the statement said.
The agency notes that the decision was made in accordance with international law as a response to the ban on regular flights to / from the territory of Romania of all civil aircraft operated by air carriers of the Russian Federation and / or registered in Russia.
Earlier, Lithuania announced the closure of airspace for Russian airlines.
Latvia also plans to soon close the airspace of the republic for aircraft of Russian airlines. There is no exact date when the airspace for Russian airliners will be closed. It is also known that Estonia closes airspace to Russian aircraft.
Before that, Bulgaria, Poland and the Czech Republic notified Russian airlines about the closure of their airspace. It is also known that the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Poland introduced restrictions on flights in the airspace for Russian aircraft from February 24.
The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation announced that they would act "mirror" in the issue of closing air traffic.
