Dutch court refused to admit witness testimony in MH17 case

A Dutch court rejected a request by the lawyers of one of the defendants in the 2014 Boeing crash in Donbass to include in the dossier testimony of a witness claiming that the plane could not have been shot down by the Buk air defense missile system. This was stated by Judge Hendrik Steinheis, reports TASS.

It is noted that the court did not find sufficient grounds to "disbelieve the prosecutor's office and consider that the prosecution deliberately did not include exculpatory information in the dossier."

This demand was presented by Oleg Pulatov's lawyers on December 8.

A Malaysian Boeing flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on flight MH17 crashed in 2014 near Donetsk. All 298 people on board were killed. Kiev blamed the militia for the crash; they said they did not have the means to shoot down an aircraft at such a height. The Joint Investigation Group (JIT) under the leadership of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Netherlands, without the participation of Russia, is investigating the circumstances of the crash. The investigation claims that Boeing was shot down from a Buk anti-aircraft missile system belonging to the Russian armed forces.
