Mayor of Krasnodar Andrey Alekseenko, detained during the day on suspicion of taking a bribe, is in his office and continues to perform his duties. This is reported by TASS with reference to the city administration.

The law enforcement agencies have not yet received a response to the journalists' request to the law enforcement agencies about the status of the Krasnodar head.

The arrest of Alekseenko was reported by the znak.com edition. Then a press release appeared on the website of the Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnodar Territory, which said that because of the expensive gun donated to the mayor, a criminal case was initiated against him under Part 2 of Art. 290 "Receipt of a bribe by an official in a significant amount."

According to the investigation, Alekseenko in 2018 (then he was the first deputy governor of the region) was presented with a gun, which is estimated at 1.6 million rubles. The bribe was intended for the issuance of an opinion by the department supervised by him on the compliance of the constructed apartment building in the Prikubansky district of the city. At the same time, this building had a number of shortcomings.

"United Russia", of which Alekseenko is a member, suspended his membership.
