A Minsk court sentenced Russian citizen Yegor Dudnikov to 11 years in prison under several articles of the Belarusian criminal code. TASS reports.

“On the basis of the aggregate of crimes, to impose a final sentence in the form of imprisonment for a term of 11 years with serving the sentence in a penal colony,” the judge announced.

The Russian is accused of inciting hatred, public calls for the seizure of power and forcible change of the constitutional system in Belarus, as well as of actions aimed at causing harm to the national security of the republic.

Yegor Dudnikov was detained on May 5 in Minsk, where he moved to live from Russia in the fall of 2019. He was charged with organizing actions that grossly violate public order. According to the Investigative Committee of Belarus, Dudnikov pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him. Dudnikov's mother believes that he gave testimony under pressure.
