Nazarbayev's nephew continues to work as the first deputy head of the KNB

The nephew of the former president of Kazakhstan, Samat Abish, continues to hold the post of first deputy head of the republic's National Security Committee (KNB). This was reported by "Interfax" with reference to the press service of the KNB.

“He also works as a first deputy,” the ministry said.

A day earlier, information appeared in the media about the detention of Abish in Alma-Ata, but later this information was not confirmed.

The nephew of ex-President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has been holding the position of First Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee since 2015.

On January 8, it became known about the detention of the former chairman of the National Security Committee of the republic, Karim Massimov, on suspicion of high treason. A pre-trial investigation was launched against him.
