The first three places on the basis of short skates were taken by the Russians. Andrei Mozalev, who replaced the injured Mikhail Kolyada at the European Championships, scored 99.76 points. The second was the champion of Russia Mark Kondratyuk (99.06), the third place was taken by Evgeny Semenenko (99.04).
