The Kazakhs who won the Olympic champion spoke about their performance at the 2022 Games

Kazakh skiers Vitaly Pukhkalo and Yevgeny Velichko commented on their performance in the 15 km race in the classic style at the 2022 Olympics, bbabo.net correspondent reports.

Both finished outside the top 20, but both edged out four-time Olympian Dario Cologna of Switzerland.

"Today's race was hard. It was easier to run the classics on the skiathlon. Today it was harder. I tried, fought as best I could. The weather is generally great today, the wind is not strong and it is warm. It is comfortable to run in such weather. The track itself is hard, but it is like flour, and skis don’t really go through it,” commented Vitaliy Pukhkalo.

“It was hard, it was cold in the first days. Today the weather is normal, the track is very difficult. But, compared to the first days, today it was better to run,” Evgeniy Velichko added.

On February 16, both athletes will compete in the team sprint, and on the 19th - in the 50 km mass start.
