French attacking midfielder Jeremy Manzorro is currently at Astana's training camp in Turkey. There have been no official announcements or news from the club's press service to date. Bbabo.net correspondent - about how Manzorro will help the capital team if the contract with him is signed.

30-year-old Jeremy, following the results of last season, became the champion of the KPL as part of Tobol. And it was his second triumph in his career (the first - the champion of Lithuania in the "Suduva"), as well as the first in Kazakhstan.

Manzorro got acquainted with the Kazakh championship three years ago, in the 2019 season. Then he was invited to join the Irtysh by a coach Dimitar Dimitrov, a friend from teamwork in Bulgaria. In his first season in the KPL, the French attacking midfielder registered a 6+6 statistic in 26 matches, which attracted the attention of other clubs.

In 2020, he moved to Shakhtar, but did not stay there for a long time due to a conflict with one of the head coach's assistants. And because of the coronavirus that was raging at that moment, the legionnaire managed to play only three games for the Pitmen, scoring one goal.

In August of the same year, he moved to Tobol, where he spent the next one and a half seasons of his career. In 44 matches in the T-shirt of Kostanay, he scored "three sevens" - scoring seven goals, giving out the same number of assists, and also earning the same number of yellow cards in all tournaments. But the most important thing for the Frenchman is the championship in 2021.

Last season, Manzorro could not be called a backbone starter. Yes, he played a lot of matches, entering the field from the first minutes, but still did not play a single full game in KPL-2021. He was always replaced during the meeting or he appeared on the field in the second half after coming on as a substitute.

Only in three games of the Cup of Kazakhstan Manzorro played, as they say, "from bell". In the Premier League, he played almost 400 minutes less than Azat Nurgaliev, almost a hundred minutes less than Toni Silva. Even the Portuguese Ruben Brigido, who managed to play bbabo.net in the team only at the end of the season, played two full-fledged matches in six matches played for Tobol.

In terms of time spent on the field, Jeremy was far ahead of only Zoran Tosic. But in 17 matches in all competitions, the experienced Serb has scored five goals and three assists, and Manzorro in 29 meetings was noted by the statistics of "3 + 5". There was no difference in scoring, but Tosic played almost three times less time (1712 minutes for the Frenchman against 596 for the Serb).

We can say that the Frenchman did not manage to play at the best level for himself in Kostanay. Even in the first season in Irtysh, he scored six goals in one campaign and gave out the same number of goals, and here the statistics are almost identical in Tobol for a year and a half. And this despite the fact that the level of performers in Kostanay is much higher than it was in Pavlodar in 2019.

But Manzorro can still help Astana. Last season, Jeremy often played on the left flank of the attack, and in the attack of "Astana" this is a rather problematic position. Last summer, Pedro Eugenio, an effective newcomer from Taraz, was called upon to close this zone on the field, but the Portuguese did not play in the capital.

In the first half of the 2021 season, Eugenio scored seven goals and made four assists in 18 matches as part of the Zhambyl team. After moving to Astana, the winger scored only one assist in 13 meetings, which clearly does not suit anyone. Back in December, there was information that in Nur-Sultan they decided to part with Pedro.

But in the end, Eugenio remained in the "Astana" and went to the pre-season training camp in Turkey. True, nothing good can be said about his level so far anyway - Pedro arrived at the location of the team overweight and is unlikely to please the new coaching staff led by Srdjan Blagojevich. A few days ago, insider Aydin Kozhakhmet wrote that the club was trying to terminate the contract with the legionnaire.

Now the puzzle is more or less coming together. It is likely that the signing of Manzorro will make it easier to terminate the contract with Eugenio. The Portuguese stood on a par with such legionnaires as Fatos Beciray, Firmin Mubele, Richard Almeida, Azdren Lulaku, Agim Ibraimi, who failed to prove themselves in the capital in six months.

But even with this possible signing, Astana has yet to seriously think about strengthening. In attack at the moment, the capital has leader Marin Tomasov, forward Abat Aimbetov, as well as not so experienced 22-year-old Ramazan Karimov, 21-year-old Vladislav Prokopenko and 20-year-old Stanislav Basmanov.

Recall that in this off-season, goalkeeper Marko Milosevic, defenders Kamo Hovhannisyan, Daniil Beskorovainy, Artem Rakhmanov, Yeldos Akhmetov and Brian Silva, as well as midfielder Aslan Darabaev joined the team of Astana. Defender Talgat Kusyapov, midfielder Yuri Pertsukh and forward Karimov returned from loan to the club.
