The Belgian Foreign Ministry recommended that compatriots in Ukraine leave this country.

“All trips to the entire territory of Ukraine are categorically not recommended. Citizens who are currently in Ukraine and whose presence is not absolutely necessary are strongly advised to leave the country.

The ministry added that since November 2021, “tension is growing” on the borders of Ukraine with Russia and Belarus and the situation remains extremely unpredictable.

“It should be taken into account that in the event of a sudden deterioration in the situation, communications in Ukraine, including telephone and Internet, may be disrupted. This can have serious consequences for the operation of airports and hinder air traffic,” the statement said.

The Foreign Ministry also stressed that they would not be able to guarantee the evacuation of the Belgians in the event of an escalation of the conflict.

Earlier, Ukraine was urged to leave the citizens of Australia.
