In Formula 1 changed the scoring scheme

"Formula 1" announced a change in the format of scoring in races that will be completed ahead of schedule. This was reported on the website of the racing series.

Now, if at least two laps in combat mode were not completed in the race, then points for the stage will not be awarded.

Last season, during the Belgian Grand Prix, due to heavy rain, the pilots drove several laps behind the safety car, after which the organizers declared the race valid and the top 10 pilots received half points for the race.

Prince Charles knighted Formula 1 champion Hamilton Formula 1 This will not happen again. From now on, if the pilots drove more than two laps before stopping the race, but less than 25% of the distance, then the first five at the finish line will receive points according to the 6-4-3-2-1 scheme. If from 25 to 50% of the distance, then nine pilots will receive points according to the scheme 13-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. And if from 50 to 75% of the distance, then ten riders according to the scheme 19-14-12-9-8-6-5-3-2-1. As before, if 75% of the originally planned distance has been covered, then the top ten will receive full points.

In addition, Formula 1 has announced that next season's sprint races will take place at stages in Emilia-Romagna (April 22-24), Austria (July 8-10) and Brazil (November 11-13). The sprint will also change the format of scoring points: they will be awarded to the top eight according to the scheme 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. Pole position will now be awarded at the end of the qualifying session rather than the sprint as was the case last season.
