Russian freestyler Ilya Burov and Ukrainian Alexander Abramenko embraced after the ski acrobatics competition at the 2022 Olympics, R-Sport reports.
Abramenko in this discipline became the owner of silver, and Burov - bronze.
They did the same thing four years ago at the Pyeongchang Olympics. Then the athletes also warmly greeted each other and took pictures with the flag of Ukraine. According to the results of those competitions, Abramenko became the Olympic champion, and Burov took bronze.
It is noted that Ukrainian officials recommended that representatives of their country not stand next to Russian athletes during any events at the Olympics in order to avoid provocations.
