McGregor announces his preferred opponent for UFC title fight

Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Irishman Conor McGregor (22-6) has named an opponent he would like to fight in a title fight as part of the promotion, according to bbabo.net.

The Irishman noted that he wants to meet with Kamaru Usman (20-1) nicknamed "The Nigerian Nightmare".

“I will feel very confident in a fight with Usman, he has mediocre techniques. I don’t see any danger in him,” McGregor said.

McGregor stated that he feels big, strong, healthy and full of energy. He noted that he did not want to exhaust himself after the injury. “I love welterweight. I did great there with the right preparation. That was the rematch with Nate Diaz and the fight with Donald Cerrone. I think these were my best performances in the UFC,” McGregor added.

McGregor last entered the octagon in July 2021. Then, for the second time in a row, he lost to the American Dustin Poirier. This time, the Irishman, who is a former UFC champion in two weight classes, lost due to a broken leg during the fight.

Usman is the UFC welterweight champion. In November 2021, he defeated Colby Covington and defended the title for the fifth time.
