The Chess Federation made a statement about Abdumalik and Assaubayeva

The first stage of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix (WGP) will be held in Nur-Sultan from 17 to 30 September, the press service of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation reports.

This tournament will bring together 12 of the strongest female chess players in the world.

Kazakhstan, as the organizer of the Women Grand Prix-2022 tournament, can nominate a nominee as a player. In this series of the WGP stage, the honor of Kazakhstan will be defended by Bibisar Assaubaev.

And also, according to the official regulations of the tournament and the international rating, the leader of the women's chess team of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhansaya Abdumalik was included in the list of participants.

Based on the results of the tournament, those who have scored the most points in the WGP series will be eligible to participate in the FIDE Women's Candidates Tournament.
