Artist Ales Pushkin accused of rehabilitating Nazism

The Investigative Committee of Belarus has completed the investigation of the criminal case against the artist Ales Pushkin, Sputnik reports citing the local investigative committee.

Pushkin was charged under Part 3 of Art. 130 (deliberate actions to rehabilitate Nazism committed by a group of persons) and Art. 370 (desecration of state symbols) of the Criminal Code of the Republic.

The investigation established that the accused carried out and posted in the public domain "portraits of accomplices of Nazi criminals in the form of Belarusian patriots and heroic personalities."

So, Pushkin painted the main organizer of the occupation police detachments Mikhail Vitushko, the burgomaster of Vitebsk Vsevolod Rodko, and during the exhibition in Grodno he publicly showed the portrait of Yevgeny Zhikhar, who since 1946 led a detachment of former policemen.

In addition, Pushkin was accused of participating in illegal actions and desecration of state symbols. Pushkin himself called the actions recorded on the video "performance".

The artist is now in custody.

Earlier it was reported that a resident of Tomsk was convicted of a photo of Goebbels on the website of the Immortal Regiment.
