Inflationary problems in Russia will be resolved by the end of this year. This was stated by the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov, Interfax reports.

“We perfectly understand the tasks - what needs to be solved, the budget has been adopted, we have good coordination with the Central Bank. Therefore, we see those problems, and problems, primarily of an inflationary nature, now, we believe that this year we will be able to solve them and we expect positive results by the end of the year,” the minister said at the Gaidar Forum “Russia and the World: Priorities” .

According to Rosstat, annual inflation in Russia in December 2021 slowed to 8.39% from 8.4% in November. For the last month of 2021, food products increased in price by 1.36% compared to November and by 10.62% in annual terms, for non-food products in December - by 0.64% and 8.58%, respectively. The increase in the cost of services in Rosstat was estimated at 0.26% in monthly terms and by 4.98% in annual terms.

According to the UN, GDP growth in Russia in 2021 was 4.2%, while consumer price inflation was 6.4%. At the same time, employment has almost returned to pre-pandemic levels with an unemployment rate below 5% since the beginning of 2021.
