Medvedev did not rule out the nationalization of property registered in unfriendly jurisdictions

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev did not rule out the possibility of nationalizing the property of persons registered in "unfriendly jurisdictions." He wrote about this Facebook page.

According to him, such a measure is possible as a response to the seizure by the West of the funds of Russian citizens and companies.

“They also threaten to arrest the money of Russian citizens and Russian companies abroad. But this will have to be answered quite symmetrically. The arrest of funds of foreigners and foreign companies in Russia according to the country principle. Or maybe the nationalization of the property of those persons who are registered in unfriendly jurisdictions, ”said the deputy chairman of the Security Council.

He explained that by "unfriendly jurisdictions" he meant the United States, the countries of the European Union and "a number of singing states of the Anglo-Saxon world."

Medvedev also stressed that Western sanctions against members of the Russian Security Council will not affect the conduct of the Russian special operation to protect Donbass.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation to protect Donbass in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR.

Ukraine severed diplomatic relations with Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has submitted a bill on general mobilization to the Verkhovna Rada.
