In his opinion, such a possibility cannot be ruled out if Ukraine continues to be militarized and accepted into NATO.

“We see how belligerent the Ukrainian leadership is, how the Nazis are set in relation to both Donbass and the peninsula. This militancy is only increasing due to the support provided by the United States and a number of European countries that are arming Kiev, ”the senator said.

Meanwhile, the scenario of an “attack” on Crimea seems unlikely, since the peninsula will be protected by the entire local population and Russia as a whole, but at the same time, you need to be ready for anything, Tsekov noted.

Earlier in Ukraine, they said that it was possible to return the Crimea "in five minutes."

In March 2014, a referendum was held in Crimea, as a result of which the peninsula became a territorial part of Russia, and Sevastopol became a city of federal significance.
