Macron called the exit from the Ukrainian crisis a priority for France

French President Emmanuel Macron said before an informal meeting of EU Interior Ministers in the commune of Tourcoing that the country's priority is to de-escalate the situation in Ukraine, TASS reports.

Macron stressed that he was concerned about the situation in Ukraine and considered it important to find a political solution to overcome this crisis.

He also recalled past talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, and will also speak with US President Joe Biden in the near future.

Earlier, French Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly said that the country is ready to deploy its troops in Romania because of the situation in Ukraine. Thus, the minister pointed out, France is preparing to defend countries close to the Ukrainian hotbed of tension.

At the same time, the Financial Times pointed out that Berlin and Paris are acting through more restrained diplomacy towards Moscow, while London has already fully adopted the course of the United States and, supplying Kiev with anti-tank installations, declares an imminent invasion of Ukraine.
