President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to impose sanctions for a period of five years against the Russian company Vitrina TV. The corresponding decree of the head of state is posted on the website of his office.
“To put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated February 11, 2022 “On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures,” the text of the document says,
The day before, the head of the National Security and Defense Council, Alexei Danilov, announced sanctions against the company from Moscow, Vitrina TV, for broadcasting Russian channels in Ukraine. According to him, the restrictions were introduced at the suggestion of the Security Service of Ukraine.
It also became known that the National Security and Defense Council imposed sanctions on the Nash TV channel, which belongs to the former Rada deputy Yevgeny Muraev.
The ex-MP, described by the UK as a "pro-Russian leader in Kiev", had previously complained that he and his family were being threatened.
Muraev, when reformatting the Opposition Bloc party in Ukraine into the Opposition Platform - For Life, left it, and then created his own party - Nashi. Prior to that, he was the owner of the NewsOne TV channel, and also founded the Nash TV channel. NewsOne, together with 112 Ukraine and ZIK, stopped broadcasting in Ukraine due to a ban by President Volodymyr Zelensky. Now Muraev continues to own the Nash TV channel.
