Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the meeting with his British counterpart Liz Truss in Moscow unprecedented. It is reported by TASS.

“Today’s meeting is generally unprecedented, because literally tomorrow the heads of the defense ministries of our countries are also meeting in Moscow,” the diplomat told the Russian diplomat, opening the meeting with the head of the British Foreign Office.

Trass arrived in the Russian capital on February 10 for talks with Lavrov on the situation in Ukraine.

Truss said last week that Moscow's claims of no intention to invade Ukraine are "false" and "the depth of Russia's attempts to destroy and threaten Ukraine is clear."

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia is in favor of an equal dialogue with the UK, and London should change the tone of rhetoric towards Moscow.
