France to lift some coronavirus restrictions from February 2

The first phase of lifting coronavirus restrictions begins in France on February 2. This decision was made in connection with the improvement of the epidemiological situation in the country.

Now the requirement to wear masks on the streets is no longer mandatory. At the same time, masks must still be used during large outdoor events, as well as indoors, RIA Novosti reports.

The mandatory requirement for remote work is canceled, restrictions on the number of visitors for sports and cultural events where seating is provided are lifted.

The second stage of the lifting of restrictions will begin on February 16. From this day on, clubs and concert halls will be open, they will be allowed to drink and eat at stadiums, in cinemas and in transport, as well as to sit at bars.

Earlier, Cabinet spokesman Gabriel Attal said that the wave of COVID-19 caused by the Delta strain in France was regressing, and the wave with Omicron was declining.
