Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida plans to hold telephone conversations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the NHK television and radio company reports. The conversation is expected to take place on February 15 late in the evening, Japan time.

The head of the Japanese government, in addition to the development of the situation in the Ukrainian state, is going to discuss with Zelensky the issue of providing for the citizens of the Land of the Rising Sun who are on Ukrainian territory.

Earlier, official Tokyo raised the danger level in relation to Ukraine to the fourth (maximum) level and called for the evacuation of all Japanese located there. The press notes that the minimum number of staff will remain at the Japanese embassy in Kiev.

Japan takes a position consonant with Washington on the situation around Ukraine and, as the media say, if necessary, will be ready to join the pressure of leading Western countries on Russia. Thus, the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan is currently working on various options for anti-Russian sanctions. According to journalists, the issue of the use of restrictive measures by the Japanese against Moscow will be coordinated with the United States.
