Due to massive DDos attacks in Ukraine, the websites of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine stopped working, and several state-owned banks also reported problems. The information security center of the country believes that hackers from Russia could be behind the attack. The Information Security Center of Ukraine reported a DDoS attack on the websites of the Ministry of Defense, the armed forces, as well as the state-owned Privatbank and Oschadbank.

“Over the past few hours, PrivatBank has been under a massive DDoS attack. There are also failures in the work of Oschadbank, Internet banking does not work,” the center said on Facebook. According to him, the websites of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine were also attacked.

“It is possible that the aggressor resorted to the tactics of petty mischief, because by and large his aggressive plans do not work,” the center notes. Not the first cyberattack

It is not the first time since the beginning of the year that Ukrainian government agencies have been attacked by hackers. The most powerful cyber attack in Ukraine in recent years took place on the night of January 14, when at least 70 government websites were attacked, including portals of the government, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Sports and other departments. The application of state services "Diya" was also temporarily unavailable.

The Security Service of Ukraine reported that hackers posted provocative messages on the main pages of the hacked sites. They called on Ukrainian citizens in Ukrainian, Russian and Polish to “be afraid and expect the worst.”

In Kiev, they then said that Russia was allegedly involved in the attacks. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov denied accusations against Russia in connection with the January cyber attacks on the websites of Ukrainian government agencies.
