Moldova - Declaration of the Party of Socialists:

Moldova (bbabo.net), - "The Party of Socialists condemns the current regime in the Republic of Moldova understands the nature of the neutral status of our country in relation to the situation in Ukraine, as well as the biased attitude towards media institutions in our country, - the PSRM published a declaration - As of yesterday evening, February 25, we see how the leadership in Chisinau forgot about its message of neutrality and began to openly fight against a certain part of the media, at the same time turning a blind eye to those media resources that openly promote the liquidation of the state Republic of Moldova through unification with Romania.

In this context, the PSRM considers the decision of the ruling regime to suspend the activities of the editorial office of Sputnik Moldova and block access to a number of news websites, as well as the regime’s declared intention to close several TV channels in Chisinau, as a violation of the provisions of the Constitution and the status of a neutral country.

We regret that the authorities misunderstand what is meant by the national consensus and the call for solidarity that they themselves made a few days ago. We were completely open to reaching a national consensus, but now there is a sudden change in approach, and this makes us think that the ruling regime has received new directives from abroad and has abandoned the idea of social unity. One of the key points of the agreement of the PSRM deputies with President Maia Sandu and representatives of the ruling party in order to achieve a national consensus was the rejection of geopolitical messages, and this point was unilaterally violated by the ruling regime.

While the opposition, local authorities and the entire society have mobilized to end panic and fear, to carry out humanitarian activities, we see that the propagandists of the public TV channel Moldova 1, as well as several private TV channels affiliated with the ruling regime, contribute to inciting hatred and split, the consequences of which can be extremely negative.

We emphasize that geopolitical messages that incite hatred, including national hatred, persistent calls for the unification of the Republic of Moldova with another state are not perceived by society normally and split it at a very important moment when we should all be united.

We ask the leadership of the country, as well as all media outlets, to show maximum responsibility, balance and wisdom in order to maintain calm and interethnic peace in the Republic of Moldova. Any decision made on emotions or on the basis of instructions from abroad can cause great damage to our country and to peaceful people who expect an improvement in the quality of life, not a split.

Only balanced and thoughtful actions in the interests of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova can preserve the national consensus reached a few days ago."
