The media found out the details of the detention of a Russian tanker off the coast of Malaysia

Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - The Malaysian authorities have arrested the Russian tanker "Primorye" with a large crew, RIA Novosti reports.

As the reason for such a step, the absence of a permit for anchorage by the vessel, which is assigned to the port of Nakhodka, is indicated.

At the time of the arrest, the ship was located almost 25 miles from the province of Johor, outside the territorial waters of this country, the report said. There are 21 crew members on board the Primorye, including two women. All of them are Russians.

Officials insist that the ship anchored in the Singapore Strait in the South China Sea, which belongs to the exclusive economic zone of Malaysia, without coordinating its actions with the authorities.

Experts note that the arrests of foreign ships with subsequent imposition of fines in Malaysia are not uncommon.
