Greater Middle East (bbabo.net), - The Commander of the US Forces in the Middle East issued an urgent appeal to the international community after visiting the Al-Khol ISIS prison camp in northeast Syria. This was reported by the news portal Al-Monitor on September 11.

Characterizing Al-Hol as a "humanitarian disaster" and a "hot spot of human suffering," US Army General Michael "Eric" Kurilla called on governments around the world to repatriate their citizens from the camp "and rehabilitate them if necessary."

More than 90% of the camp's detainees are women and children, of which 70% are under the age of 12, Kurilla said in a statement following his visit. Most of them do not have sufficient access to water and other basic necessities.

“ISIS seeks to exploit these terrible conditions. About 80 people are born in the camp every month, and this place is literally a breeding ground for the next generation of ISIS terrorists,” Kurilla said.
