Sandu discussed Moldova's regional stability with NATO Secretary General

USA (bbabo.net), - President of Moldova Maia Sandu held an official meeting in New York with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. The head of state spoke about this on her Twitter page.

Her visit to the United States takes place within the framework of the meeting of the UN General Assembly, which opened on September 20, dedicated to challenges in the economy and security.

“We discussed the security situation in the region, the war in Ukraine and its risks for Moldova, as well as ways to increase regional and national resilience. We reaffirmed the importance of promoting dialogue and preventing further military escalation,” Sandu wrote.

At the same time, according to the ex-president of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, the ruling Action and Solidarity party, led by Sandu, is actively drawing the country into the North Atlantic military bloc, contrary to the neutrality prescribed in the constitution.

The American negotiations between Sandu and Stoltenberg were of a formal nature, since the main consultations between them took place during a joint flight from London, which is about 8 hours.

“While Maia Sandu is talking on the plane and making plans with the NATO Secretary General, the national army is conducting joint military exercises with NATO soldiers (Romania and the United States) on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The vector of power in the face of the PDS is clear - joining the interests of this military structure. And what about the neutrality prescribed in the constitution and the will of the people who want peace, and not the risks of war because of the ambitions of Maia Sandu and her overseas masters?” Dodon asked in his telegram channel.

Recall that after the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in London this weekend, Maia Sandu went to New York to attend the 77th session of the UN General Assembly. She flew over the ocean on board the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, and they were accompanied by the leader of Estonia, Alar Karis, and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

As bbabo.net reported, on September 19, at the military training base of the National Army of Moldova in Bulboaca, the opening ceremony of the Fire Shield 2022 multinational maneuvers was held, in which representatives of the Moldovan security forces, as well as US and Romanian military personnel were involved. The defense ministry clarified that the purpose of the exercise is to improve the skills of units and increase their level of interoperability with the armies of partner countries. According to the scenario, the fighters will fire from different types of weapons, including artillery systems.
