The governor opened an ancient mosque after restoration

Russia and the CIS (bbabo.net) - The solemn opening ceremony of the Historical Mosque took place in Samara with the participation of the leadership of the region.

The House of Allah was built 130 years ago thanks to the industrialist and philanthropist Temirbulat Akchurin. During the Soviet period, the authorities closed access to the mosque, and its appearance was impersonal - the dome and minaret were dismantled. The building itself was turned into a social institution. The mosque was returned to the Muslim community only 20 years ago. By that time, the building was in disrepair, and about 10 years ago, its major reconstruction began.

During his speech, the Governor of the Samara Region, Dmitry Azarov, expressed gratitude to everyone who participated in the restoration of the historical religious building, which, according to him, is an adornment of the city and a symbol of the rallying of believers around the traditions of Islam, which "has been represented for centuries on our land."

“And today, in the unity of world religions represented on Russian soil, the inhabitants of the Samara region, the citizens of Russia draw spiritual strength and draw national unity. I am sure that together we will make every effort to ensure that the unique traditions of the Samara land, the traditions of friendship, the traditions of the brotherhood of people of different nationalities, different faiths are preserved and passed on from generation,” added the head of the region.
