Additional funds have been found in the Czech Republic for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine

Ukraine (bbabo.net), - The Czech government has approved the allocation of additional funds for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine. Prime Minister of the Republic Petr Fiala announced this on March 27.

“Today the government approved another contribution from the Czech Republic in support of Ukraine. This is the republic’s participation in the Czech initiative, which turned out to be very successful,” he announced, without naming a specific amount.

According to him, about 20 countries have already joined the ammunition supply initiative. Fiala explains this by saying that countries realize that this is the only way to quickly provide Kyiv with the necessary ammunition. However, he believes that it is “extremely important for Ukraine to know that within a few weeks or months more ammunition will arrive and it will be able to adjust its tactics accordingly.”

In addition, Fiala stated that “the Czech initiative offers know-how and solutions that we have already tested before we can increase the capacity of the defense industry in Europe.”

“We will not be able to do this this year, so with the help of this initiative we are overcoming a critical period,” the Czech Prime Minister emphasized.

Let us recall that in February the Czech Republic took the initiative to find ammunition for Ukraine outside the EU. Initially, there was talk of purchasing 800 thousand shells, but on March 27, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky announced the possibility of supplying 1.5 million shells in the future. According to the latest information, the money allocated by the participating countries is intended for the purchase of the first 300 thousand units of ammunition, and another 500 thousand are under discussion.
