Poll: remote work is better for the stomach

Most telecommuting employees eat lunch at home, and they eat healthier more often than those who visit the office. This is evidenced by the survey data of the job search service Superjob, writes CNews.

The polls were attended by representatives of the economically active population from all districts of Russia, who work in offices and remotely. The study was conducted in all districts of the country from 26 to 31 January. Superjob surveyed 1,600 workers over the age of 18.

Among those who go to work, the majority bring food with them - 57%. 18% of respondents eat at the employer's buffet, another 11% visit city canteens, cafes or restaurants. Only 4% have time to go home to have lunch, and 2% prefer to order food to the office. The remaining 4% named other options - "I buy a bun for tea in the supermarket", "I eat on the run"; I practice intermittent fasting.

Women are more likely to bring food with them - 66% of them bring lunch boxes from home, while among men this figure is 51%. As the newspaper notes, it is more common for men to eat in city cafes and go home at lunchtime.

Among teleworkers, the vast majority dine at home (75%). Women do this more often than men - 80% versus 71%. Every ninth remote worker (11%) goes to a cafe or restaurant for lunch, and only 3% use delivery services.

Nearly half of telecommuters reported that they consider their diet to be healthy rather than unhealthy (45%). Among those who go to work “full-time”, only a third of the respondents have the same opinion about their diet. In addition, employees who go to work are more likely to complain about the inconsistency of lunch and snacks with the principles of healthy eating - 18%, while only 11% of respondents gave the same answer among "remote workers". Those who consider their diet rather unhealthy are also higher among those working on the employer's territory (36% versus 29% of remote employees).
