The court fined the mayor of Veliky Novgorod because of poor-quality snow removal

The court fined the mayor of Veliky Novgorod, Sergei Busurin, because of poor-quality snow removal in the city, the joint press service of the regional courts reports on the VKontakte social network.

“The magistrate of court district No. 30 of the Novgorod judicial district considered the case of an administrative offense under Part 1 of Art. 12.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, in relation to the official, Mayor of Veliky Novgorod Sergey Vladimirovich Busurin, ”the message says.

This article provides for liability for non-compliance with the requirements for ensuring road safety during the construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of roads or failure to take measures to timely eliminate obstacles in traffic, including if the use of such sections of the road threatens traffic safety. According to the law, control over the compliance of roads with established technical regulations is entrusted to local governments.

As the court established, evidence confirming that Busurin had taken timely measures for the qualitative cleaning of the streets of the city from snow was not provided. The court imposed an administrative penalty on the mayor in the form of a fine of 25,000 rubles.

Earlier in St. Petersburg, fines of 40 million rubles were issued for poor snow and ice removal.
