The State Duma called Russian skiers saviors

President of the Russian Curling Federation, State Duma deputy Dmitry Svishchev, after the victory of Russian skiers in the Olympic relay, shared his expectations from the performances of Russians in the next races of the Games in Beijing. He has no doubt that they will still win medals, noting that Elena Vyalbe, president of the Russian Ski Racing Federation, is also counting on this.

“I am sure that there will be medals from skiers, Vyalba and I talked about this topic - she is waiting, and we hope and are confident in Vyalba. If she says something, then so be it. Of course, you don't need to relax. The guys are now all motivated, they believe in themselves. Another question is what value these medals will be. We expect only gold from them, so we will look forward to it. They are like our saviors,” said Svishchev.

Yulia Stupak, Natalya Nepryaeva, Tatyana Sorina and Veronika Stepanova became Olympic champions in the relay. They brought Russia the third gold of the 2022 Olympics, while Russian skiers won the second highest award. Earlier, Alexander Bolshunov became the champion of the Games in skiathlon.

Earlier, Svishchev said that the victory of the skiers helped to get out of a state of anxiety.
