The prosecutor's office conducted its own verification of the execution of the municipal contract, according to which this "masterpiece" appeared in the city, and came to the conclusion that its cost was at least three times too high.

- This art object was installed as part of the improvement of the pedestrian zone along March 8 Street, - explained the representative of the prosecutor's office of the region, Natalia Mamaeva. - The customer of the work determined the cost of the object at 489 thousand rubles. At the same time, Internet monitoring showed that suppliers offer to make such a structure for only 164.9 thousand rubles.

It was found that the main part of the municipal contract was pavement asphalting. The installation of small architectural forms, including the art object, were only accompanying. And the combination of these types of works in one contract, according to the prosecutor's office, led to the restriction of participation in the auction of suppliers of art objects. To all appearances, the mayor's office officials who were involved in the organization of the purchase will have to answer for this.

In addition, the information was confirmed that until January 13, "Double Heart with the City" did not have a bench provided for by the contract. And the object itself was installed with a delay of two months - just before the new year. Although all the work was accepted and paid by the mayor's office in October.

The prosecutor's office concluded that there were signs of abuse of power in the actions of officials (Part 1 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for punishment from a large fine to four years in prison). The materials of the check were sent to the investigating authorities to resolve the issue of initiating a criminal case.

Citizens questioned the need for such spending.
