The judge, who was driving drunk around Samara, was deprived of a special status

The Qualification Board of Judges of the Samara Regional Court (KCC) agreed to bring to administrative responsibility ex-judge Yevgeny Gladkov, who was twice detained while driving while intoxicated. This was reported to Oboz.info by the press secretary of the Samara Regional Court Ekaterina Stryukova.

Yevgeny Gladkov at the end of December last year refused to be tested on the breathalyzer, despite the obvious signs of intoxication. A couple of weeks later, he got drunk again and was once again stopped by the traffic police.

As previously reported, Gladkov tried to avoid responsibility and deliberately delayed the consideration of the case on lifting his immunity. He submitted an application to the KKS of the Samara region for voluntary resignation of the status of a retired judge. If Gladkov’s voluntary statement had been approved, then he would not have been brought to justice for all the previously committed offenses, since immunity was still in effect at they were committed.

State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein said that if before the next meeting of the QCJ (February 18) the Prosecutor General's Office does not submit to the board a proposal to deprive Gladkov of the status of a retired judge for committing gross disciplinary offenses, then this status can be removed from him at his personal request without discrediting grounds .

If the Prosecutor General's Office had not submitted a proposal to deprive Gladkov of his status, the collegium would have to consider only Gladkov's application to resign as a judge. In this regard, Khinshtein asked the leadership of the Prosecutor General's Office to speed up the submission of materials regarding Gladkov as much as possible. The panel of judges considered the proposal to deprive Gladkov of the status of a retired judge for committing gross disciplinary offenses on February 15.
