Russia (bbabo.net), - Investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Buryatia opened a criminal case against the deputy director of the municipal plant for the improvement of the city of Ulan-Ude. The official is suspected of taking a bribe for illegal actions, the press service of the department said.

According to the investigation, in July 2019, a local resident was sent to the Ulan-Ude beautification plant to serve a sentence imposed by the court in the form of compulsory work. The man was temporarily hired as a cleaner. Not wanting to serve his sentence, he asked a friend to resolve the issue of release from work. The intermediary agreed with the master of the plant and handed him cognac and dry rations with a total value of more than 21 thousand rubles.

"The official himself insisted on a bribe in the form of food and expensive alcoholic products. Having received rations and alcohol, the suspect compiled fictitious time sheets and subsequently handed them over to the convicted person for presentation to the penitentiary inspection and removal of a criminal record," the report says.

The suspect, meanwhile, went on promotion and now holds the position of deputy director of a municipal institution. The issue of choosing a preventive measure against him is being decided.
