Police detained a man who barricaded himself in a hotel at Indiana University in Bloomington, USA and took several people hostage, the university's press service said on Twitter.

“The situation at the university hotel ended without casualties. The police detained a man. Law enforcers remain at the scene to conduct an investigation, ”the message says.

The fact that an armed man took hostages on the territory of the university became known earlier on December 4. In connection with the incident, guests of the hotel located near the university were evacuated. Students were encouraged to stay indoors on campus.

According to a police spokesman, the man himself called the department and said that he was in a hotel at Indiana University.
