The death toll from a rock collapse on tourists in Brazil has risen to six people, and another 20 are missing. It was reported on Saturday by CNN Brasil.

According to the channel, at least 32 people were injured as a result of the incident. 23 received minor injuries, and two more with open fractures are being treated at the Santa Casa Hospital in the municipality of Piumi. Three of the injured are in the Santa Casa Hospital in Passos, but there is no information on their health status yet.

In total, there were about 70 tourists in the area where the collapse occurred. Now a search operation is underway at the site of the tragedy with the participation of divers and rescuers.

Fire spokesman Lieutenant Pedro Ayhara warned that there is a risk of further collapse, as there is sediment in the region.

The incident took place at the famous tourist destination of Minas Gerais. The video shared on social networks shows the moment when a stone block falls into the water. As a result of the fall, three ships were damaged, two of them sank.

The head of the district where the incident occurred, Cristiano Silva, expressed condolences to the families of the victims and confirmed that part of the rock fell as a result of the accident. The incident could have started from the "pressure of water" in the area of ​​the canyons, which caused the collapse of rocks and rock structures.
