The head of the city of Alma-Ata Bakytzhan Sagintayev visited the hospital where the victims of the riots and illegal protests are being kept. It is reported by "Sputnik Kazakhstan".

He thanked the serviceman and the policeman who were injured in the clash with the terrorists.

As the agency clarifies, Sagintayev visited a police officer and a military officer at the Central City Clinical Hospital (TsGKB) of Alma-Ata. The victims were previously diagnosed with gunshot wounds.

In Kazakhstan, protests began on January 2 in the city of Zhanaozen, Mangistau Oblast, due to an increase in the price per liter of liquefied gas to 120 tenge (about 21 rubles). Previously, the price for a liter of gas was 60 tenge.

It was also clarified that the Ministry of Defense announced attempts to attack the military units of Kazakhstan by extremists.

Earlier it became known that during the riots and illegal protests, 164 people were killed. Most people died in Alma-Ata.
