Russia (bbabo.net), - On the eve of the Winter Olympics in Beijing, competitions in "snow" sports started in Russia. And they were preparing for the contest "We believe in Russia - together we are strong!" in support of our athletes. It was launched by the Russian Ministry of Sports and ANO National Priorities.
In the Samara region, the open championship of the Sergievsky district in winter polyathlon was held. Eventing includes air rifle shooting, pull-ups for men and push-ups for women, and cross-country skiing. The competitions were held within the framework of the federal project "Sport is the norm of life" of the national project "Demography". Samara athletes also participated from the Republic of Tatarstan.
"For as long as I can remember, Sergiev skiers have taken first place in polyathlon in the region," Vazgen Gokoryan, chief judge of the championship, said. "We have a wonderful track." The youngest skiers overcame a distance of one kilometer. The men ran five kilometers. And two participants, without looking back at the frost - also an additional 10 kilometers. Among them was a young skier Artem Rezyapkin.
“I look forward to these competitions every year, this is a very good track, that’s for sure,” Artem said. “And of course, we will cheer for our skiers and biathletes in Beijing!”
Mark Kharitonov, a young resident of Turan in Tuva, also loves winter sports, especially hockey. "Outdoor activities are great! - he says. - Thanks to them I will become strong, agile and improve my hockey skills. And of course, I aspire to Olympic heights." In the city, fans are waiting for the start of the hockey tournament at the Olympics. And train in a new hockey box. It was built under the national project "Demography".
