The head of Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn, who collaborates with Gennady Golovkin (41-1-1, 36 KOs), spoke about the third fight of the Kazakhstani with the Mexican Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KOs), reports the telegram channel FIGHTER CHANNEL .
In his opinion, if in the trilogy Golovkin loses to Canelo, then this fight will be his last.
"The Canelo trilogy with Golovkin for the title of undisputed world champion will be an incredible sight. For Gennady, it's all or nothing. If he loses, this fight will be his last," Hearn said.
Golovkin's last two fights with Canelo were in 2017 and 2018. The first one ended in a controversial draw, while the second one ended in a minimal victory for the Mexican. After that, Alvarez conquered the fourth division and became the undisputed champion in the second middleweight (WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF).
Canelo coach talks about third fight with Golovkin
Recall that in December Golovkin was supposed to have a middleweight unification fight with the Japanese Ryota Murata (16-2, 13 KOs) in December. However, due to the coronavirus, the meeting was postponed to 2022. The fight will be tentatively organized in the spring. At stake are the IBF and IBO titles, owned by GGG, as well as the WBA Super, owned by the Japanese.
