Aldabergenova, who failed to qualify for the final, noted that she was very proud of Kalmurzaeva.
"I am very glad, very proud that she is performing not just at the Olympics, but as a finalist of the Olympic Games. In the first jump, she performed the same element as in the qualification. It is a very expensive element in terms of cost, but something went wrong , fussed in the air, drove a little differently.But this experience, I understand, this is not just the World Cup, this is the Olympics.
And as an athlete, I understand her very well. She failed her first jump. She was preparing for the second jump, but her leg left the track, and she did not even stop at the springboard. Naturally, this is excitement. It is her first time performing at the Olympics in the final. At the last Olympics in Korea, she was closer to the 20th, and here she is already in the final, this is a very big breakthrough,” said the freestyler.
As for her performance, Aldabergenova noted that she expected to reach the final from the first jump.
“If we compare yesterday’s weather and today, it’s better, of course. Today there was sun, it’s not snowing. But yesterday we even made two jumps in training - one double, one triple, we didn’t even have enough speed. For example, if take a triple jump, we jump 65 kilometers per hour, we could not take this acceleration. If we had qualified yesterday, I think there would have been more injuries than the finalists. And this is the best thing that the organizers and judges did, that they made concessions to us And let everything take place on the same day that the Olympics, but still health is more important.
I made a very expensive element in the first jump. Of course, there is an even more expensive element that I was preparing for the final. But, alas, I did not enter the final and therefore I did not even knead this element. I jumped perfectly, everything is fine, but, alas, this adrenaline rush ... I did everything too clearly, that I landed a little in torsion. If I did, as in training, a little gently, slowly, calmly, if I got to my feet, I could even enter the final as number one. But, alas, this did not happen.
About the second jump - I made the element cheaper in terms of complexity, I did everything clearly, beautifully, but we didn’t even plan to jump the second element in the qualification, we thought we would enter the final with the first jump. Were not ready for this. Having completed the second jump, she stood up. But, apparently, the judges didn’t like it and left me behind,” said Aldabergenova.
Tomorrow, February 15, the qualification in men's acrobatics will be held by Kazakhstani Sherzod Khashirbaev.
