Kamila Valieva wins the short program at the Beijing Olympics

Russia (bbabo.net), - Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva showed the best result in the short program in the individual singles tournament, receiving 82.16 points for her performance. Anna Shcherbakova is second, Alexandra Trusova is fourth.

The leader of the season in the singles competition, Russian Kamila Valieva, entered the start line 26th and first among Russians. After the story with the doping test, the meeting of the Court of Arbitration for Sport and the admission of the 15-year-old athlete to the tournament, it was not easy to tune in to the fight.

But she did it! Valieva performed the short program not perfectly, having received 82.16 points from the judges. The Russian woman could not hold back her tears after the performance. Still, too many nerves had to be spent over the past week.

Alexandra Trusova, unfortunately, made a mistake already in the first jump - the triple axel. But after this failure, she was able to pull herself together and cleanly made a triple flip, and then a combination - a triple lutz-triple toe loop.

For her performance, she received 74.60 points from the judges.

The last of the Russians was Anna Shcherbakova. She did all the elements cleanly and lost quite a bit to Valieva - 80.20 points.

Valieva and Shcherbakova took first and second place. Japan's Kaori Sakamoto is in third place with 79.84 points. Trusova is the fourth.

The athletes will present their free program on February 17.
