Coma boxer Arrest Sahakyan dies in Togliatti

Russia (bbabo.net) - Russian boxer from Novosibirsk Arrest Sahakyan died after spending 11 days in a coma from a blow in the ring during the "Knockout Kings" tournament on December 26 in Togliatti.

In an 8-round rating fight, the boxer lost by a clean knockout in the final round to Russian Igor Semernin.

After hitting the opponent, the athlete lost consciousness and fell into a coma. The victim was hospitalized in one of the local hospitals. Doctors diagnosed cerebral edema and third-degree coma.

The boxer's condition was extremely difficult with no positive dynamics. Sahakyan's arrest died on January 7 at the age of 27 without regaining consciousness. On his personal Instagram page, Igor Semernin expressed condolences over the death of the athlete.

Farewell to Arrest Sahakyan will be held in Togliatti on January 11, after which he will be buried in Yerevan.
